Liège (2)

23 May 2015:  Today was a rest day in Liège.  After two weeks of hiking (from Bergen Op Zoom), we enjoyed walking around town in our "camp shoes" (Mary in "Five Fingers"; Carroll in "Crocs"), instead of our boots, and without backpacks.  In the morning, we went to an excellent mountain clothing and equipment store, Alpi.  It's always fun to look around a shop like that.  Predictably, we found a few items that we needed/wanted to add to our gear.  In the afternoon, we visited the Musée de la Vie Wallonne (Museum of Walloon Life).  We then spent almost two hours in a café that offered free WiFi (but with cigarette smoke penetrating from outside, plus loud, obnoxious music), searching for B&B or hotel rooms for the next two nights – a difficult challenge, since this is a holiday weekend.  We were finally successful, though, so we plan to hike tomorrow to Spa.
