23 May 2015: Today was a rest day in Liège. After two weeks of hiking (from Bergen Op Zoom), we enjoyed walking around town in our "camp shoes" (Mary in "Five Fingers"; Carroll in "Crocs"), instead of our boots, and without backpacks. In the morning, we went to an excellent mountain clothing and equipment store, Alpi. It's always fun to look around a shop like that. Predictably, we found a few items that we needed/wanted to add to our gear. In the afternoon, we visited the Musée de la Vie Wallonne (Museum of Walloon Life). We then spent almost two hours in a café that offered free WiFi (but with cigarette smoke penetrating from outside, plus loud, obnoxious music), searching for B&B or hotel rooms for the next two nights – a difficult challenge, since this is a holiday weekend. We were finally successful, though, so we plan to hike tomorrow to Spa.
