Bergen op Zoom (2)

8 May 2015:  Today was a rest day in Bergen op Zoom, after completing our first week on the trail.  We were pleased to have a room in an apartment in the center of town (booked through airbnb), which served as a convenient base for the day's activities.  Highlights included the historical museum – het Markiezenhof Historisch Centrum – some shopping, a Thai dinner at a funky little café, and extended study of our topoguide and map of Flanders, combined with a lot of internet searching, in order to find and book accommodations for the next few days.

We're ready to hit the trail again tomorrow – and it will be a big day: more than 30 km to Kalmthout (Belgium).

We noted this portrait of Prins Maurits in the historical museum, since we lived on Prins Mauritslaan in The Hague in 1989-1991.
