27 August 2015: The trail from Furfande to
Ceillac takes about 8 hours of hiking (with a significant amount of dénivelé).
We decided to break that hike into two étapes (stages):
We hiked today from Furfande to Bramousse; tomorrow, we will hike from
Bramousse to Ceillac.
These two hikes will be mirror images of each
other: Today's hike took us down more than 1000 m., from Furfande to a
bridge across the Guil River in the Combe du Queyras, before climbing back up
about 200 m. to Bramousse (1485 m.). Tomorrow, we will climb all morning
to a pass above Ceillac, and then descend a short distance to that village.

Morning at the Refuge de Furfande:
The long descent from Furfande first crossed open slopes and then passed
through forest. It was a good trail all the way.
After
crossing the Guil River, we climbed a short, steep slope to Bramousse and our
Gîte d’étape, Le Riou Vert.
I'm with you.
