The warm, sunny weather is continuing in the Alps. Snow is melting, and buds are appearing on trees. Under these conditions, the best place in the Upper Giffre Valley to go snowshoeing (at least for a person who does not yet know all the special places in obscure valleys and hilltops) remains the Col de Joux Plane and La Bourgeoise. I noticed, when I snowshoed there yesterday, that the signposts marking the snowshoe trail (see, e.g., the first photo in my post of 29 March 2015) have now been removed. Well, it was easy to follow the trail without those signposts: The trail that I broke through fresh snow on 5 April 2015 is now a broad, well-beaten path through crusty snow. All along the trail and at the summit of La Bougeoise, the blue sky and the surrounding mountains were magnificent!
